Spokane Taiko
The Inlander calls us “Thunderous Entertainment”. Spokane Taiko is a non-profit community group, founded in 1997, that plays the traditional music and rhythms of Japan on Taiko drums and other instruments. We are a performing group that also conducts hands-on workshops, where participants get to play the big drums. The culture that surrounds the art of taiko is one that involves patience and discipline in every aspect of life.
Past performances include the Spokane Symphony “M Show”, Spokane Arts’ TheaterFest, Art Fest, Spokane Folklore Society's Fall Folk Festival, Spokane County and City Libraries, Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture (MAC), First Interstate Center For The Arts, Valleyfest, South Perry Street Fair, Spokane Buddhist Temple Obon Festival, WSU International Students Graduation, Unity In The Community, Fairchild AFB Pan Asian Celebration, and others.
